>>Taken From the SNICHOVAULT<< Good thing models don't eat!
I made this one last year, 2009. The source was shot up on my roof in downtown Baltimore. I like how the subject seems to sink into the texture, as opposed to simply being surrounded by the texture. But as usual I like the texture more than anything. When I'm attempting to create an effects negative, it's often a gamble on whether or not things are gonna turn out how I want, and in this case I wanted a bunch of dendritic cracks all around. And check it, cracks everywhere.
I was told that this one was a bit more "fashiony" than my other pictures. This could be true, but that's no prob, there are plenty of famous, way-cool fashion photos to relate to.
This is a Toni Frissell (b. 1907) picture from 1939 called "Underwater Model". She shot fashion photography for Vogue and later Sports Illustrated. Trying to find more exciting locations, like atop the Eiffel Tower, or in this case, underwater. As well as having a somewhat-alike pose, I think this photo has a similar sense of movement. I'd say in both it looks like the legs are moving quickly to our left. While her's is brought about naturally, by having a chick jump into a pool, I think mine is faked with the texture I made. The black abysmal settings also seem to favor each other, but mine has dendrites, so I win.
